The Board, The Cards, The Counters
The Bionica game board is designed in the shape of a shell, this being an example of inspiration by nature in itself.
The name of the game, Bionica, means biomimicry in Italian. And each of the seven letters of the Bionica logo represent one of the seven divisions.
The game board is made up of three tiles for each division - as shown by the division logos on them, one 'home' tile for each company - as shown by the company logos on them, and three '!' tiles. There is also a space for the '!' cards.

The Division Cards
Each of the divisions has seven question cards, and each of the cards has two questions on it. These questions are to be asked to a player landing on a division tile.
Either of the two questions can be asked and it is the asker's choice to decide which. The correct answer is emphasised and in bold.
The QR code links the the specific division webpage - 'mammals' on the card above - when read with a smart phone. To allow the players to find out more or seek explanation of the adaptations referenced on the card.
The ! Cards
There are fifteen ! cards. These can be stacked on their spot on the game board and one should be taken upon landing on an ! tile.
The message on the card may be beneficial or detrimental to the player - but its instruction must be followed - and the card should then be returned to the bottom of the pile.
We would welcome suggestions for messages on the ! cards, so why not use the 'contact us' page to let us know your ideas.
The Priority Cards
There are fourteen different priority cards. These give a monetary value of owning one patent (tile) in each division to your company.
Should one player own all three patents in any division at the end of the game then they get a bonus - meaning four times the value stated on the card.
The playing pieces are pyramids in the company colours, and the patent counters and counters in the company colours
